Fund raising and processing

• Fund raising is made largely through GoFundMe and the fund is collected by USA registered 501-C organization. As it is well known, GoFundMe requests legal documents from the fund raisers and fund receivers in Gondar, Ethiopia. All the requested legal documents are provided to GoFundMe, these included the legal representatives in Gondar who are authorized to receive the fund, a bank account, names and addresses of the Gondar Committee members. In addition to that, the Committee in Gondar (school construction) has a government legal certificate.
• The 501-C organization, a legally USA registered organization, and the certificate of this organization has been submitted to GoFundMe as well. The organization is called Fasiledes Meredaja Mahber. The accountant and the treasurer are from the Fasiledes Meredaja Mahber.  They are not members of the School construction organizing group, hence extra step to ascertain the legitimate use of the fund and transparency. 
• It has to be known that as a 501-C organization, the fund for particular project is accountable and closely watched by the USA government.  Therefore all the fund transaction is through a legal banking process which we have been doing. We, in addition to guaranteeing the use of the fund for the project, we do not use any part of the fund for any overhead process. If needed, members of the group do it out of their pockets such as financing this website. 

Other ways of support

So far, the project has received support in form of materials such as cement from the mayor of City of Gondar and Cement mixer from an individual donor - Ato Samuel Zewdu. The lead person from the Gondar committee uses his own vehicle and expense to run the project. 

Above all, from inception to practical ground breaking and build up of the school, the draft, design and monitoring is done pro bono by the Engineering Faculty members of the University of Gondar. The committee members from Gondar as well have put themselves to voluntarily contribute with their knowledge and time.

Fundraising in different venues

In addition to GoFundMe direct donation, the group members and the group have conducted fundraising activities:

• fundraising in gathering in localities such as Seattle, San Jose, Silver Spring, Virginia (Alumina of Gondar College of Medical Sciences gathering)
• Fund raising via zoom
• Fund raising and auction during the Annual North American Sport festival.
• Fund raising and auction in Montgomery College, Silver Spring. We thank the artists who supported the program with their talents: Artist Fasil Demoze, Artist Shambel Belayneh and Artis Assefu Debalke. Our gratitude extends to members of the Tsasdiku Yohannes Association in catering the food and drinks. Our gratitude goes to the College and staff as well.
• Fundraising collected through ticket selling and direct donation by and to Fasiledes Meredeja Mahber the fund which is deposited to the school construction project account.
